Why tracking goes quiet
A package can travel hundreds of miles between scans. Tracking updates only happen when a worker or machine physically scans the barcode, and plenty of legit reasons cause a gap: the package is riding a truck between hubs, it hit a busy sorting facility, weather slowed the network, or a scan simply got skipped. The item is moving even when the screen says nothing. Silence is not the same as lost.
How long is too long
A day or two of silence is completely normal, especially over weekends and holidays. Start paying closer attention when tracking sits frozen for around a week with no movement at all, or when the last scan was a origin facility far from the destination and nothing follows.
